Documents required for GST registration in India

Article 226 Cannot be Invoked if Statutory Appeal Under CGST Act is Not Filed by Assessee

The documents required for GST (Goods and Services Tax) registration in India depend on the type of business entity. Here is a list of documents required for different types of entities:

  1. For Sole Proprietorship:
  • PAN card of the proprietor
  • Aadhaar card of the proprietor
  • Passport size photograph of the proprietor
  • Address proof of the proprietor’s place of business (such as rent agreement or property tax receipt)
  1. For Partnership Firm:
  • PAN card of the partnership firm
  • Aadhaar card of all partners
  • Passport size photograph of all partners
  • Address proof of the place of business (such as rent agreement or property tax receipt)
  • Partnership Deed
  1. For Private Limited Company:
  • PAN card of the company
  • Certificate of incorporation of the company
  • Memorandum of Association (MoA) and Articles of Association (AoA) of the company
  • Board resolution authorizing a director to sign the GST application
  • Address proof of the registered office of the company (such as rent agreement or property tax receipt)
  • PAN card and Aadhaar card of all directors
  1. For Public Limited Company:
  • PAN card of the company
  • Certificate of incorporation of the company
  • Memorandum of Association (MoA) and Articles of Association (AoA) of the company
  • Board resolution authorizing a director to sign the GST application
  • Address proof of the registered office of the company (such as rent agreement or property tax receipt)
  • PAN card and Aadhaar card of all directors
  1. For Limited Liability Partnership (LLP):
  • PAN card of the LLP
  • Certificate of incorporation of the LLP
  • LLP agreement
  • Address proof of the registered office of the LLP (such as rent agreement or property tax receipt)
  • PAN card and Aadhaar card of all designated partners

In addition to the above-mentioned documents, the applicant needs to provide bank account details, email address, and mobile number. It is always advisable to consult a chartered accountant or a GST practitioner for a hassle-free registration process.
